Hi, I’m Alissa!

With over 10 years of experience in the industry, I’ve honed my skills in user experience design, specializing in information architecture, user journey mapping, interaction design, and user research, while leading and mentoring high-performing teams.

School of Design in San Francisco

My journey began at San Francisco State University School of Design, where I built a strong foundation with a Bachelor’s of Science in Visual Communication Design. During the program, I had the opportunity to work in the Advanced Projects class as part of a student design group for campus clients. One project involved collaborating with the Student Success task force to conduct research with students, alumni, and former students. I led a team to complete and present to the Dean of Undergraduate Education a multi-month research project to identify opportunities to increase the four-year graduation rate.

While graphic design was a major focus of the Design program, I was particularly drawn to incorporating the design thinking process and user feedback into my projects.

I also worked with the Institute for Civic and Community Engagement to migrate their website to Drupal, which provided me with hands-on experience in websites, information architecture, accessibility of websites and PDF materials, and more.

My Ubisoft Journey

My career at Ubisoft began as a web content specialist, where I spearheaded the creation of Content Engagement Reports to optimize content strategy. Driven by a user-centric approach, I quickly progressed to Associate Web Producer, Web Producer, Senior Web Producer and then Senior Manager, Website Production, leading teams in designing and launching websites. Throughout this journey, I deepened my UX expertise, culminating in a UX Master Certification from Nielsen Norman Group. I ultimately transitioned to a dedicated UX role, leading the design system and user research initiatives to ensure user-centric and technically feasible solutions.

As a UX professional, I embrace the idea that ‘knowledge is a paradox, the more you know the more you realize the vastness of your ignorance.’ This drives my commitment to continuous learning, whether through exploring new design concepts, diving into books like ‘Atomic Habits’ and ‘The Design of Everyday Things,’ or experimenting with the latest technologies.

Outside of Work

I recently relocated with my fiancé to Hopkins, Minnesota, where we now reside with our three dogs, Remus, Obi, and Keeley. In my free time, I enjoy playing video games (Stardew Valley!), reading, painting, and gardening.
